Atlanta Babywearers Lending Library

We here are Atlanta Babywearers are fortunate enough to provide a small carrier lending library as one of our services.  In addition to our friendly faces and wandering children, you can also bring home a public-use carrier for 2-4 weeks.

Our lending library wouldn't be what it is without generous donations from Jen Harris of Marsupial Mamas.  Jen is fab in every way possible, generous to a fault and runs one of the best babywearing online stores around.  Like her page on Facebook and you'll be privy to flash sales and sneak peeks of what she's stocking.

Another patron of our library is Susan Horn of The Blueberry Tree.  I've bought wraps from Susan for years now (has it really been that long?) and she's always great to work with.  Plus, she's a graduate of babywearing school and includes samples of chocolate in every package.  She can't be beat!  Oh, and she'll toss in free babywearing info cards and brochures as well.  Susan is a wonderful babywearing resource in addition to being a businesswoman who genuinely cares about her customer base.  Like her page on Facebook too!

And now, without further ado, here is our current list of carriers available in the lending library:

WRAPS

  • Natibaby Honsiu size 7 with hemp, purple (this wrap is a BEAST and will likely be chopped into a shorter size)
  • Natibaby Tokyo cotton stripes size 6, wraps fairly true to size
  • Colimaçon et Cie blue; these wraps were originally one long 5.5m wrap.  The tapers are not perfect; they are trapezoidal instead of being a rhombus.  Both are about 2.5m (~size 2) on the short side and about 2.7m on the long side.
  • African kanga
SLINGS
  • Comfy Joey Edinburgh (worsted wool) size large (currently checked out)
  • Sakura Bloom pure linen in green
POUCHES
  • Kangaroo Korner purple fleece in large
  • Seven Slings green floral in medium
Hopefully we will be adding more carriers soon!  Now, because Atlanta Babywearers is non-profit and has no membership fee, funds for carriers are quite sparse, so the library will stay small.  However, if you are interested in one of our personal carriers, please don't hesitate to ask about it.

Edit: We are trying to become a BWI chapter, so rules for the lending library will be changing in the future.
